• Chemistry

    • Chemistry is the branch of science that deals with matter and the investigation of its properties and reactions, and the use of such reactions to form new substances.

Chemistry is often referred to as the central science because it joins together physics and mathematics, biology and medicine, and the earth and environmental sciences. Knowledge of the nature of chemicals and chemical processes, therefore, provides insights into a variety of physical and biological phenomena. As well as practical knowledge of the subject, chemistry students develop many other skills such as problem-solving, numeracy, communication, creativity, and data analysis.

At ELPS, we teach Pearson Edexcel International GCSE from Year 9 to Year11 with an International exam at the end of Year 11 and International advance Subsidiary in Year 12 and Advance level in Year 13. The Chemistry Specification content is interesting and engaging for students and also designed to ensure good preparation for further study.

Our teaching strategies help to develop students’ practical skills by including a number of practical’s in their learning. It also improves students’ analytical and logic skills.

Studying chemistry opens doors to a range of sectors and opportunities. Therefore at ELS, we encourage students to learn this branch of Science and apply analytical skills gained in any field of career students choose.
